Jennie shared the following:

2025 has been a lot and I started funneling that energy into painting, crafting and creating. I’m calling it my Craftivism Era. Activism, social activism and deconstructing a relationship with Evangelical Christianity are where a lot of my attention is currently. I’m also in a process of unlearning the White-Washed version of history, culture and the truth I’ve been missing all these years.

  • Jennie has worked in the coaching industry, with women’s conferences, small businesses all over the world and a few people whose name you might recognize. She was very involved at her church for 30 years as part of the worship team, a leader, event planner and team coordinator.

  • In the early 2010’s Jennie started working with clients using Infusionsoft to help setup, maximize and train their team on how to use it.

  • When her church declined to let her host an LGBTQ+ Worship Night for her 50th Birthday she asked for her membership to be removed and requested an Exit Interview. The exit interview took about six months to happen and involved about a twelve page document but she was glad she took the opportunity to be an activist for those who are “Other’d” in churches.

  • Jennie left the evangelical church in 2021, so she had experienced some of the trend towards white nationalism within church. Now, she can’t imagine going back because the toxic spread of White Nationalism has permeated far beyond what it had been when she left.

I believed something was wrong with me because I didn’t fit in with the church crowd. Now I realize it was because I can be a bit of an activist and that doesn’t work well within the walls of a church.

I care deeply about those forced to the edges and in the margins. I care…a lot sometimes. Feels so freeing though to know that caring is my superpower. I also see that caring can be manipulated and taken advantage of. I have to set the boundaries and limit people to them. So I do…and sometimes that pisses people off.

Learning to be ok with that occasionally pissing people off.

  • Art Activism and Craftivism are helping me stay sane.

  • Inflatable Activism is also something new I’m trying as inspired by the Portland Frog.

A painted rock with a cartoon frog illustration and the humorous message: "My tummy hurts & I'm mad at the government." The rock is teal with a darker blue edge, displayed on a small clear plastic stand on a wooden surface, with textured stone background.
